Article 44. Reopening of recreational pools to the public.

Recreational swimming pools opened to the public, with the following provisions allowed access to them by any person.

The maximum capacity allowed will be 30 percent of the capacity of the installation, provided that the safety distance between users of 2 meters. Otherwise, this capacity will be reduced in order to comply with the safety distance.

  1. Prior to opening, cleaning and maintenance must be carried out.

Disinfection of the facilities, hand rails, shower buttons.   Likewise, the different equipment and materials should be cleaned and disinfected which is part of the installation.

The biocides to be used for surface disinfection shall be those of the type product 2, referred to in Annex V to Parliament’s Rules of Procedure (EU) No 528/2012

Council of 22 May 2012 on the marketing and use of the biocides. Disinfectants may also be used as 1:50 dilutions of bleach lye or any of the virucidal disinfectants that are used in the on the market and which have been authorized and registered by the Ministry of Sanitation.

  1. The provisions of this Article are without prejudice to the operations of physical and chemical water purification necessary to obtain a water quality of the appropriate vessels in accordance with Annexes I and II of Royal Decree 742/2013 of 27

Establishing the technical-sanitary criteria for swimming pools, with the performance of the relevant controls, as well as compliance with the other applicable regulations.

Article 45. Hygiene and prevention measures applicable to recreational pools.
  1. The daily cleaning and disinfection of the installation shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 6.

However, on surfaces that are in frequent contact with the hands of users, such as locker room door knobs, or handrails, should be taken to carry out a cleaning and disinfection, at least three times a day.

  1. Users shall be reminded by means of visible signs or the rules of hygiene and prevention to be observed, pointing out the need to leave the installation in case of any symptom compatible with COVID-19.
  2. In the users’ living areas, a distribution should be established to ensure a safety distance of at least two metres between the users by means of signs on the floor limiting the spaces. All objects personal items, such as towels, must remain within the security perimeter of two meters established, avoiding contact with the rest of the users.
  3. The use and cleaning of the toilets shall be carried out in accordance with the in Article 6.5. It should also be verified that at all times they are equipped with soap and/or hydroalcoholic gels or disinfectants with virucidal activity and registered by the Ministry of Health.
